My 12 yr. old granddaughter came home from the skating rink very upset because....?

a boy "blew her a french kiss". I thought I knew it all but I have no clue,and she refuses to discuss it further. What did he do? He was 12 too so it can't be that bad. I'm an old lady, is this something new or what?
