Should i go back to the doctors?

Ive been coughing for months nonstop and the way i breath is kinda wheezy. I went to the doctors and he told me i had something called coughing asthma and he gave me 2 different inhalers to take. I have been taking them as directed yet i still cough! Its gotten a bit better but they do not help very well. My chest is kind of hurting and i am feeling pretty congested. Should i go back to the doctors?
