Religious question......?

For some reason they thought it was okay. It really doesn't make sense at all and there is no way to justify it. Pope Urban II probably considered the Crusades to be a "Holy war" which made it ok in his mind. All the good that did because only a few thousand people died and the Church didn't win the Holy Land anyway(hear my sarcasm)
