Is this inappropriate talk for "just friends"?

I have a guy friend, Brian and for some reason he IMs me every day on Facebook... and I'm pretty sure he has an odd because it's become this inside joke for us to talk about and we always end up talking about it... he'll end up saying things like, "You are asking for a ing' etc etc.
